I own Sony Cybershot. Had AA Energizer lithium in camera, took about 200 shots and all of a sudden today battery icon starts blinking and 3 shots later battery went dead today. 30 seconds replaced them with Duracell rechargeable NiMH 2650. After 10 shots battery icon starts blinking and battery went dead. It was a 4 pak Duracell. Same thing happened to the other 2 batteries.
Hopefully does anyone think that I had a run of bad batteries or MUST I send it back to Sony? Bought camera 7 months ago to the day, so should be under their warranty. If a camera takes about 4 weeks to be repaired, will they extend the warranty a month. Someone please tell me there's not a short in the camera.

It is possible you got some bad batteries. Were the packages dusty? That would be the first indication they've been on the shelf too long. Try them in something else to see if they work there first. Anyway, try new batteries from somewhere you trust, and try again one more time.

I suppose it could be a short. As long as it's under warranty when they receive it, it will still be a warranty repair. Good luck!
