I just thought it was weird that it was never brought up. Like, if she didn't speak to them, why didn't the writers say that.

she mentioned her dad once i think... they were talking about their common lack of knowledge with blokes(!) and carrie said something like 'my dad ran out on me when i was a kid so does that mean i'm screwed up for life?' - to which miranda replied 'my dad came home every day at 6 on the dot and i still aint got a clue about men'.... this is the only refernce i remember but don't know which episode it's from....

Carrie never mentions her parents. The only parent reference I remember in the series is Miranda's mother's death.

I cried during sex and it was because I felt so vulnerable; scared to feel so good knowing I could again be hurt so much, so I know what you mean. And yes, I am still with this man who understood the tears and held me close and kissed the tears from my face.

I watched every single episode and I do not remember her mentioning her parents. I also thought it odd that they celebrated a holiday either.

But I did love the show.

I don't think so. She should have mentioned them in the one wehere Miranda's mom died, or when she was going out with the guy who still lived with his parents, when she saw Mr. Big at church with his mother, or even when she was moving to Paris.

Don't think so. I don't think she even mentioned anything like "mom used to" or "my mother said"

she was a foster child, she grew up in the system, which explains why everything has to be designer labels, and her consummate need for a man. no values.
