Just dont have imporper music that would make anyone offended. And make sure you have plenty of help from the ushers, as far as meal cordination. Ummm... If you have any more specific questions, u can send them to samz_25@hotmail.com

First of all, congratulations!!
I would suggest looking up the articles in the October 15, 2006 Watchtower. There are some good Bible principles found in the study articles that will help you and your future husband plan out your reception. Also, the index will have some good suggestions for you as well.
Much success!

From what I've always heard, there is no dancing at receptions for Jehovah's Witnesses. That might be why you've never been to one. A lot of couples forgo them altogether. I would suggest a cake and punch reception with light background classical sacred music. Don't spend too much money and make it flashy, just a simple gathering of family and friends to celebrate your new lives together. Simple decorations and plain white linens should do it. I doubt that could upset either your Witness guests or non Witness guests. Everyone can respect a simple, elegant, low-key wedding reception. You could even have it in your church's fellowship hall if they have one. Makes it easier for guests to get from the ceremony to the reception. Good luck with your planning!

To the above poster, wasn't trying to offend anyone. Must have gotten some bad information. That's good to know, and thank you for correcting my misinformation so I don't seem rude or ignorant in the future. =)

Ask members of the congregation to see their wedding album. You'll get some great ideas from the pictures.
Older sisters usually LOVE to help with stuff like this.

Keep is simple and inexpensive.

We don't do the toasts or the throwing of bouquet or garter, etc.
Or money dances with the bride, or freak dancing or bachelor parties, or other stupid stuff.

They have weddings? I thought the whole idea about the religion was not to celebrate anything. Do not give a gift because they dont believe in gift giving.
