I gave my cats Frontline Plus two weeks ago and I still find big fleas on them, even pregnant fleas, on my cats when I use the flea comb. The directions say Frontline works immediately and not to apply a second treatment for at least a month. Is Advantage definitively better? Can I put Advantage on my cats now or should I wait two more weeks. I put Frontline on my cats two weeks ago. Have there been reports of fake or faulty pet medicine via an Internet store?

Don't be fooled, the Frontline IS working. There are still adult fleas, and flea eggs in your carpet, furniture, and outside. Each flea has to jump onto your cat and THEN die. If you're still having problems with fleas, I suggest boarding your cats for a day and flea bombing your house, and continue to use the Frontline to keep the flea population at nil.

The Frontline may not be distributing evenly. Give your kitties a bath... they'll yell, but its for their own good... and then apply the flea medicine after a week or two. And I realized that the expensive Frontline and Advantage does not work as good as the cheaper stuff at department stores. The extra money I spent didn't achieve better results at all.

Get some flea furniture spray, and buy some powder for the carpet. Spray the areas that your cats like to go, especially inside... around the litter box, under the bed, in the linen closets, where ever they like to go. You can't stop them from picking up fleas if they go outside, but you can kill the fleas inside with store bought products. And they work GREAT for my cats.

Personally, I use Advantage over Frontline. Some cats may respond better to Advantage than to Frontline (I suppose this could also be flip flopped).

I would use something prescribed by your vet...it's soooo worth the money.

There are a few things out there and I can't remember them all but one option is Interceptor.

Not only does it help prevent fleas and ticks, it is also a heart worm preventative.

It is in a pill form, not causing any mess and they are flavored for cats or dogs.

None of those over-the-counter products work very well. I highly recommend going to the vet and getting Revolution or something from them. It is worth the extra money, and even protects them from other harmful parasites. Good luck!
