I have been told that in the State of Texas that a credit card company CANNOT garnish your wages or bank accounts for a unpaid credit card balance. Is this a fact.......................ple... explain.

In many states, creditors may garnish your wages. However, they may not in Texas (as long as it's not the government you owe money to).

They can get a judgement against you, and you will still owe this debt, but they can't take it out of your paycheck.

Depending on what type of credit card it is.. ( unsecured or secured ). if it's an unsecured credit card ( ex: department store card ) then they can not garnish your wages. ( unless you've set up some sort of payment plan with them.

I knwo only a FEW people who have Secured Credit cards. Those are which in your terms you tell them they can have the house, car or all your monies...

They cannot garnish wages in Texas, but they can take funds that you have in your bank account.
