All the other answers were wrong. Of course you can dispute a valid 30 day late payment as long as you are willing to say it was not late. The burden is on the creditor to prove you were if you dispute the charge. They are unlikely to respond to an account going on 2 years old that is currently in good standing; so more then likely your dispute will hold up.

Send your dispute letters to the three national credit reporting agencies:

• TransUnion
2 Baldwin Place
P.O. Box 2000
Chester, PA 19022

• Equifax
P.O. Box 740241
Atlanta, GA 30374-0241

• Experian online at

Just do a google search for "credit report dispute letter" and you will see a ton of sample letters.

I have disputed and won several valid late reports on all three reports. It is worth doing. I suggest disputing everything negative on all your reports. Remember, you need to dispute each item seperately and just because you have an item removed from one of your reports does not mean it is removed from the other two.

Good luck!

If you were late, you were late. Credit bureau will let you dispute if you wern't actually late; but that is the point of a cr bureau report in the first place; to list all the status of credit, good and bad.

You can't have a valid historical item removed from your valid credit history. You were late, and you can only wait for the credit bureau to drop this item after the required number of years.
