depends. many times the ship's email will go down for days or longer due to operational commitments. Heck, if he is on a sub, he doesn't GET email access at all.

if he is on shore duty.. if he doesn'thave access in his Barracks room, he will have to depend on the base'sLibrary or internet cafe.. and if he is busy on duty, well, it could be a few days.

Do you mean ship email when he's underway or deployed?
If so, it depends on the ship, not on rank. On a carrier he may be able to check it every day, but on a sub it would only be once a week or so, because email doesnt work underwater. That said, ship email sucks, the sailor will get maybe half of the emails sent to him and you'll get about the same, if y'all are both lucky, the system is just really bad.

my kid is navy..he sends things now and then...Say's he sent this or that, and i get some of it, some i dont, and some i wonder about...but it seems like he trys...things just dont always work on his end as they do on mine.
I think he gets more of mine, than i get of his.. it's not the best system to work with...and i dont have a clue what is fouling things up...if ya find out..do a post...there are loads of us would like to see an explanation on this one.
There are times i would be frantic if he were in The gulf..
