Despite romanticism and a desire to think we are all special, given the luck of the draw, odds say that most of us would have been peasants. With everyone running around being Robin Hood or King Arthur-types, there would be no civilization. Though they led anything but a glamourous life, it's the peasants that made a culture possible.

The Pope, I'm not a Catholic, in fact for my present beliefs they would have probably hung or burnt me. But it strikes me the only person who didn't have to worry about being accused of heresy, invaded or killed in battle was the old padre himself.
Good wine, good food, maybe not as much sex as you would perhaps like. Being a woman must have been ghastly, you'd either be up the duff or doing heavy labour. Being a man wasn't a lot better, the labour was hard and some of the jobs stank. The only way to get away from home was to go off and be bait for someone elses army., that if you didn't pick up some pox on the way there.
No, no be the Pope and give Michael Angelo a back ache.

I am Queen Redflower of England. My subjects would not be asked to worship me but to join me in a crusade of peace, to bring harmony though out the land and make sure all people are taken care of. We would share in the abundance of our land. The forest and all the animals would be protected as well. We would never take more than we need and always replenish the land for future generations.

I'm ready to be crowned.

If I lived in Medieval England, I would be a knight (fighting wars AND jousting) - despite the fact that am a woman. I would also have been a scholar and an advisor to the king (all in disguise as a man, mind).

Of course, medieval times stretched over centuries and there was variation within that time. However, I think I would like to have been a bard (Supposing i had the talent for it). To sing and make songs. Also they were able to participate in events at courts, fairs and festivals, and to some extent - travel.

I would be the Wise-Woman, Herbalist and Mid-wife of a nice small, out of the way village.
Not rich, by any means, but able to grow most of my own food and to tend to the needs of the villagers.
It would be a simple life for me, probably a daub and wattle home with a dirt floor and a thatched roof. A nice big hearth in the center with room to make my herbal preparations.
I would take my payment in trade, meat, fish, flour or other grains that I could not grow or hunt for myself.

I'd be a warrior woman, riding my horse all the way around, not caring much about money, but travelling a lot, and getting into a lot of sword fights and occasionally hunting with a bow.
