Thankfully science has helped solve yet another theological mystery. No longer do we have to try to figure out what God had against the people of California or Florida, since we can understand that storms and earthquakes are natural phenomena. This raises new theological questions, of course, but that is a good thing - it means we are still learning and hopefully will prevent anyone from claiming to dogmatically know what God is and isn't responsible for.

No...if he wanted to, he could. But he doesnt. Its a part of nature. He doesnt make the hurricanes that kill people, nor the earthquakes, nor the floods et et. Everyone wants to always blame God for this. But this is nature. God is a god of love, so why would he cause a hurricane to happen or a tsunami, that would end up killing 300 people...think about that first. Alot of the weather problems were having are due to Global warming, which was brought on by MAN!! People need to stop blaming God for all of these things happening. The bible does state that during Armageddon, God will use all the elements of the earth to bring about the destruction of the wicked. It does state their will be earthquakes, fire, floods et et during the last days, this is part of bible prophesy. But hes not sitting up there pointing, Ok, Calif. needs an earthquake right now, or florida needs a hurricane...come on! Be realistic! Hes not evil, Satan is evil! Satan does soo many evil things to the world, just so people like you can turn & blame God! You fall right into his trap....nice...

No. I think it is a matter of the physical forces of our planet that make storms and earthquakes.

god made the planet a living oragisnm,so i think storms and earthquakes come with the planet, god has no time or care for storms, besides, why cause earthquakes,or other bad things when he never does good things,or does he,this planet is a perfect eco-system,it is the natural order of things, like when you cough, did god make you cough or is it just part of your biological order, storms and earthquakes help the planet survive

no.An earthquake is the result from the sudden release of stored energy in the Earth's crust that creates seismic waves,a storm is the result of instabilities in the atmosphere.

What God did was to set up the parameters of how the Multiverse would operate (Laws of Physics), create matter ex nihilo and then stand back and let 'er rip!
