Men have the same right, and in striving for equality courts have ruled that women have the same right. Just because you don't see many females exercising their right to be topless, does not mean it isn't there.

As it says on the website that I provided, there are certain cities, even states that allow women to go topless in situations that men are allowed to go topless.

People here do not seem to realize. I have already established that it is legal for females, in some cities and states across the US, to go topless. What my question was was why people think women are not allowed to go topless. Obviously with the responses I've been getting it is obvious people don't know how to read the whole question, and chack the evidence I have given.

I'd be happier if men didn't, either, except at the pool/beach; the men who take their shirts off don't tend to be attractive.

Women dont have the right to be topless, that is the law in most parts of the country, oh and trust me, wikipedia is not very accurate, anyone can change that website info. The law states tlhat the parts of the body on women and men that can not be exposed are the parts that contribute to the development of children after, before, or during intercourse or pregnancy. Im not saying that it should stay illegal, but it is right now.

I don't think anyone should go topless in Public. Not Women and definetely not Men.
When people were uncivilized, people used to run around naked. Fine! but after people started understanding the need to wear clothes to protect them selves from the harmful sunrays, the bugs, the germs, the insects and to protect them from catching viruses that are in the environment.
And especially cover those organs that are most sensitive to such a harsh environment.
And since women are smart and they are much more civilized than men, we choose to wear clothes even if it was legal to run around naked.
And if humans starts running naked, whats the difference between us humans and animals?

Prolli because if you saw a topless woman walking down the street there would car accidents all down the road! Seriously...a man can walk around with no shirt and no one would care and if a woman does it then it's a circus...When society can give a topless woman the same nonchalant attitude as they give men then maybe more women would be apt to do it.

Even if it was legal, I don't know of many women who would go topless in a public street... the beach is a different story. I don't have a problem doing that. (as long as it is a topless beach so that nobody is surprised). For me, it is just not physically comfortable to not wear a bra... gravity is not the best friend of big-boobed women!!

It may be the case in some places...but it is not the case everywher....
Here in Florida a woman gets arrested every year for going topless (she does it as a political argument towards the issue)....
I don't see a problem with it...
I'm gay....so I don't have invested interest in seeing women be naked....but still, they should be able to do it if they choose to.

Men do have mammary glands...and under certian circumstances--a man will lactate (granted it is rare).

First, it's not true everywhere in the U.S. In fact, it's a pretty short list of places, considering the size of the country.
Second, at the top of the page is big type saying the page lacks links to sources.
Just because a right exists, doesn't mean that many women would take advantage of it.
Most I know would not (including me).

That is disrespectful and inconsiderate to those around you.
Regardless if it is legal anywhere!
Doing it at a nudist beach/colony or in the privacy of one's home-great. But not to force that upon others to get a 'show.'
I certainly do not want to see bare chested women when I'm out shopping, at the beach, what have you. Not only for myself, but for my children. Nor would I go topless in public.
You cannot compare a man's chest to a woman's.
There is no comparison.

Because most cities have ordinances against public nudity which when it comes to women includes their breasts. Men don't have mammary glands. Like it or not, there are different standards.
