Absolutely not. It's for external use only. Mainly a repellent. It's also used for rheumatoid arthritis. You wouldn't use Joy liquid detergent for lemade would you. Same logic.

While citronella does appear to occur naturally in some plants that may be used for cooking with, the oil by itself would be better if you used it to make soap or rubbed on your skin to repel mosquitoes.

No it couldn't be safely used. Use lemon zest, dried or fresh, if you don't have the lemon grass.
