No, just switch from soft drinks to milk and juice and swap some healthy snacks for those candy bars. Schools will still make $$$ without poisoning the children with all that garbage.

Did I mention leave the condom machines? I'm tired of seeing all those babies at graduation. I really am.

Yes they should. Vending machines are for making a profit. If there is a machine in a school it should be one that offers apples, oranges, etc. for a healthy snack.

I work at a high school & have seen first hand that by taking out the machines the kids go ahead & bring it from home or go to the store. I don't think it makes any sense to have the school loose out on extra money when the kids are going to eat the stuff anyway.

I think that the vending machines that are in schools should be changed so that they dipense things like fruit, and water instead of candy bars and pop.

My school didn't allow food, except for school lunch in the lunchroom. All we had was a soda machine and a juice machine. Which was only for non-school hours. I say get rid of the snack machines. When I was in school even having a candy bar in your purse would get you detention. We lived.

Absolutely, the only way to combat childhood obesity is to remove the temptation. Some people will argue that parents should educate their children about healthy diets, and while that sounds good, the parents can't be with the children 24/7.

My school sucks and the machines don't work! So go ahead and ban them it won't make a difference to me.

No, but maybe leaving out certain food from the machines isn't a bad idea. The problem is, if we take it away, they want it more...

yes

They should be eating the school lunch, after all the government is subsidizing it so they should be eating it.
Maybe they will learn that the government don't give you much so they should get a job when they graduate and stay off welfare.
