Has anyone had a dream that they were in an elavator and it crashed? What does that mean? I have serveral dream books but they all say something different.

I must add that I've had this reoccuring nightmare since childhood about elevators.

Elavator and crashed = fear of losing control
When you have recurring dream about elevator, that could symbolize something in your life that you are afraid of. This could be due to childhood problem as you mentioned.
Perhaps, when you were a child, you are losing control at some situation and you somehow link your fear to elavator.
To go deeper of what it means, you should examine your life, only you know exactly what it really means. I guess that losing control is due to disrepect or disapproval in some way. Again, that is only my spectulation. More background in detail will help figuring what that means. However, basically, I would say crashed elavator is fear of losing control

Elevators in dreams represent opportunities and choices we make which can either bring us to a higher level or take us down to a lower level. A elevator crashing represents choices which make you fall hard.
