Plot ratio is the ratio of the land area to the total floor space in a building - also called the Floor Space Index or Floor Area Ratio in the US. It is a measure of density for space. Tall buildings which have a large floor area due to the many floors in the building but a small "footprint" ie built on small plot of land, have high plot ratios. I am looking from a reliable source the average plot ratios for central areas in major cities such as London, NYC, Paris, Barcelona, HK and Singapore etc. Any pointers?

To find cities, I would suggest urban planning academic jurnals. City Planning Departments for the big ones and a review of peer reviewed literature for accuracy.

Google is your friend.

That sounds like something that only the individual cities would have readily available.

Your only possible source other than that is if someone or group has done a study and already compiled statistics.

Below is what may be a 'typical' study.

[It's at least a place to start]

I used "Average Plot ratio" in my Yahoo search.
