Well put Sister. However by what I read here... it seems as though this is about as close to a peaceful agreement us Christians will have.
I'm LDS by the way not Catholic... so we are indeed united by our Savior

Ok. I'll buy that. But can't that be applied to EVERYONE, and not just Christians? We ALL share many different things. Perhaps we should be reaching out and sharing our similarities with people of ALL religions (or lack thereof). How about that? If you agree, then great! I think you are making an excellent point. If you don't, then you are suggesting that we separate ourselves from others, which is splitting mankind asunder. That, arguably, is diabolical based on your own definition. It is a very complex thing you are suggesting.

Because most humans, Christian or otherwise, are pretty much unwilling to compromise on certain areas. We all want to be right, we all want to think that what we believe and what we believe we know is true, and that it is, essentially, true for everyone, and when we see someone who does not believe what we do, at our very core, we have a natural concern, not only for that person, but for ourselves, because if they're right, we're wrong, and we don't want that. But we also don't want someone else going around believing something we truly feel is untrue. We have an inborn need to have people, basically, believe as we do, not necessarily on every single point, but at least on the major ones. Because this is pretty much an impossibility, it continues to tear humans apart, not just Christians (or members of other religions and scientists, et. al.). BUT, yes, I do agree on your truths as presented. I've never looked up diabolical in the dictionary, so I'll take your word for its meaning for now.

Well, Debra, I'm glad you asked.
This Q&A is rather peppered by atheists - but - atheists are in a unique position to be converted to the religion of their choice!
When someone mentions the three-person trinity, I feel compelled to talk about the one-person trinity as a valid explanation of the Bible. The Father, Son and Holy Spirit is like the soul, the body and the works in a single person. God is God and a man at the same time. Jehovah God got a Divine Human!
I really appreciate Swedenborg's monotheism and his insistance that there is nobody predestined to hell or that faith is not apart from charity or good works.
I do not like bad doctrine and I would not expect an atheist to convert to a bad doctrine.
God hates atheism first and foremost and my espousing of Swedenborg's doctrine is mostly for them. I don't really expect people who have confirmed in their mind Calvin's doctrine or the Nicean Creed's "three persons" to change their mind.

Both the Roman church and its offshoots as well as the Orthodox communions assert that "Christ Has Died, Christ Is Risen, Christ Will Come Again" is the central mystery of the faith.

Most - a very large majority of Christians do accept that. But there are even there those who do not. I would imagine the Episcopal bishop Spong probably doubts that Christ rose, or will come again in glory.
We're a contentious bunch I guess. Even about the essentials.

I believe that Jesus is the Word of God come to us in the flesh, and died on the cross for our sins, and will be returning for His church in our life time. I am a born again Chrisitan. Praise the Lord. All others have the very same freedom to accept that on their own or reject it as i did. I freely and willingly accepted it.
God gave everyone the same way into heaven through His son Jesus. He will not force that upon anyone. If anyone chooses not to accept Jesus and the path to heaven that God set up for them, it is they, not God who condemned themselves to hell.

Society formed by some formal formalities, either it is relligious or social. To maintain the fact of life we must have a sense of descipline , which came either from relligion or man made social activities.
So it is very convinient to learn the life style of human through relligion from beginning of life.Thats why I agree if you are following your fellow.

From a fellow christian... it would be better if we worked together to focus on what we share...but to be honest, God warned us in the Bible that this would come "...brethren against brethren." We have to prepare ourselves for the worst...this is minor compared to what it could be. We have to stand our ground & minister anyway we can. Try to convert as many souls as we can. Keep our faith & we will not have anything to worry about. Most of all pray like you've never prayed before. Take care & God bless you & yours!!!

nicely your question is all incorrect before everything. With Christianity there are particular 'liberties' and particular 'absolutes' somewhat the being that there is one authentic God that created all issues and he sent His Son Jesus Christ to die for our sins so as that we could be reconciled (have a dating) with God after the "fall of guy" the only thank you to have existence is to have self belief in Jesus, accepting Him as our Lord and Savior and that He sent the Holy Spirit to us after he ascended in to heaven. that's out of the liberties that the denominations have been created, for the main section. Liberties at the same time with believing that's a sin to smoke, drink, tattoo, positioned on buttons and different traditions. There are extra absolutes and extra liberties than I somewhat have listed right here yet what i'm asserting is that in case you have faith interior the absolutes then you're a Christian... The trick right here of direction is you desire to somewhat receive Christ to receive the Holy Spirit. many human beings 'believe' each and all the desirable suited issues and may even comprehend scripture yet they have not gained Christ. Scripture even says that many will call "Lord Lord" and he won't comprehend them. So there are those obtainable that believe they are Christians yet they don't seem to be. They even comprehend each and all the "acceptable" solutions, so as that they're going to aid you comprehend of direction the Spirit has printed the certainty to me. Denomination isn't even somewhat significant. I somewhat have been to a pair Methodist church homes and located them to be lifeless and crammed with people who think of they are Christians yet they are somewhat merely religious human beings, yet I somewhat have additionally undemanding a Methodist church this is somewhat alive with the Holy Spirit.
