I have a chihuaha and his symptoms are: normally active dog is lethargic; cries out in pain on barely touching or sometimes no touch. Doesn't want to move very much on repositioning. No BM in a whole day noted.

You can treat it yourself with mineral oil, but it's not a good idea, especially for a dog in pain. He needs to see his vet, both for relief and to determine the cause. Since he is in so much pain, you should take him ASAP.

Could he have eaten something non food related?
It could be causing pain as it comes down into the intestine, back passage.
My dog ate a sock and when she tried to poop she would squat, and almost like someone kicked her up the butt get up and run around the yard.

If there is lethargy and crting in pain, get to the vets NOW, it's Friday and you don't want a huge bill from the Emergency Vet over the W/end

Also, if the dog isn't eating, there wont be any bowel movement as there is no food to come out.

Contact me privately if you wish, maybe I can get some more info and help out some more

I saw someone else reccomend canned pumpkin. Sounds funny but I have tried it and swear by it. Just make sure you don't get the pie filling. Just the 100% pumpkin. Its cheap and you just give a spoonful a day. Wait a day or two and you will be amazed. I was! But I do reccomend taking the dog to the vet also just in case there is something else causing a blockage, if the dog is in pain its time to take it in.

Canned pumpkin (not pie filler) or baby prunes work well. For a Chi 1 tablespoon an hour until they have their first movement.

Seeing he's in pain though you may want to see a vet to make sure he has not swallowed something and there is a blockage. It could also be bloat which can be leathal so call for that emergency appointment.

TAKE TO VET NOW! Dog may have a blockage in the bowel. With this combination of symptoms this sounds serious.

Is obviously in extreme pain, don't give it anything to drink or eat. Just go the vet. This is an emergency!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't mean to sound rude but TAKE THE POOR DOG TO THE VET.

Don't waste your time reading the answers of people who have never seen the dog. He may have eaten something and is now blocked. He may be having a bad reaction to something he ate outside.

Your dog could die and you're here playing on the computer!!!

It sounds as though your dog has a blockage either from a foreign body or something else. It has to be a Vets job I'm afraid! (Urgent too!) Could be a semi torsion , where even gasses cannot escape!
