Yes. Legally, they are single. However, that doesn't mean they should be considered eligible. Single just means unwed. Eligible means unattached.

Someone in a serious relationship is NOT single! If it's casual it's one thing, but a serious relationship may involve future plans and all sorts of emotions. It's "serious" for a reason!

Yes. All relationships are trial marriages, but you aren't actually married til the "i do". Besides, there is alot more lost in a divorce than in a break-up. that's the beauty of being "single". It's like being on probation and if there's something you don't like, you have the right to quit. better to run into those things before marriage.

I wouldn't say they were single. I've been in a serious relationship for a long time and I consider myself involved or taken.

I don't see why not. Legally, they are single unless they're married or have a civil union. But really it's up to the individual what they want to be called.

That's how they would hold title legally ... lol ... a single man or woman ... if they've been married before - you would call them an unmarried man or woman ... if not you are considered Single ... ( but committed ... lol )

Its called "dating someone" or "with someone" or " I have a boyfriend/girlfriend" But if you HAD to chose between married and single, you would be single

Well, if my guy did that, we would have some serious problems there and I would break up with him probably because if you go around saying you're sing when you aren't, it's basically saying you're looking for someone else.
So, for me, no, it's not okay.
