I've recently decided to organize an annual campout with some friends who I would not ordinarily get to see that often. I offered a lovely campsite, flushable toilets, hot showers, and breakfast Saturday through Breakfast Sunday cooked for them. This was not going to be standard campfare, it was gourmet food. All this for only $45 a head. I went from 23 positive RSVP's to 11 when it came time to pay. 3 couples paid, 1 couple showed. What can I do to get a better turnout next year?? I'd hate to go to all this trouble again for much the same result.

Sorry to say but that is the way it works. You will always get twice as many to say yes than will actually pay and some of those will be no shows. People will always say yes at first to try to be nice, or because they really do think it's a good idea. However once life shows them conflicts, or they just decide to be lazy they change their mind. Nothing you can do about that except ask even more people knowing that at least half will change their mind.

If this is really something you want to do, try to talk some of those 11 couples into going next time and ask many more to go in the process. Keep adding every year, but to be honest it sounds like a lost cause. Camp outs are fun, but only if you like them to begin with.

first of all, many people back out all the time. Maybe you should set an earlier commitment date (start with a deposit of maybe 1/3 of the loot - this will give you security and make them more likely to keep the date free), but primarily you need to find out if your friends are really interested in it - and if your menu/plans meet their interests. For some, a campout means campfire food; it is not the venue for gourmet food.

i will believe that. even with the certainty that, to be common, i do no longer strategies hip-hop taking a turn from the baleful gritty variety it replaced into everyday with. I do take excitement in rappers like Ghostface and Raekwon, besides the fact which have no longer something against lighter rappers like Louis good judgment and Astronautilus. in my opinion all it incredibly is doing is somewhat in simple terms increasing the variety, no longer removing from the rappers who nevertheless pass hardcore. and that i believe what Dick B is asserting, besides the incontrovertible fact that why ought to all rap be approximately suffering? valuable, center classification human beings don't have it just about as intense as people who adventure poverty and ghetto-existence, besides the incontrovertible fact that who stated that rappers ought to rap approximately suffering? I do exactly no longer think of all hip-hop must be as frustrating as could properly be.
