Can you conclude that a man in his late 30's, early 40's is single because he has "issues"?

No you cannot conclude that. Maybe he had a wife who died of ovarian cancer. Or his wife was killed by a drunk driver or some a$$hole who was too busy talking on her cell phone at the time to pay attention to the road or doing her makeup in the rear view mirror instead of watching the other cars.

Are you for real? What kind of a ridiculous question is this?
Firstly, finding the right person to marry is just a difficult for men as it is for women, and sometimes it takes 30 or 40 years (I was 35 when I first met my wife). Second, maybe a guy doesn't want to be married, but instead wants to focus on his career, or a life-long dream.
It is not fair to "conclude" anything like this, except that maybe the asker of this question is a bit immature.

Just as women wait, men do too. There is no set time frame to get married, I have a friend that got married in his mid 40s to a wonderful woman. She didn't mind, in fact she thinks that he is a great catch. He doesn't have issues, just wanted to live life and wait till the right time to get married. Isn't that what women should do too?

Everyone has "issues" !!! Just because he happens to be in his 30's or 40's does not make him a bad person with issues, its just timing, thats all. Give him a break! Maybe he is just one of the smart ones that wont settle for less!!

I stay away from words like "should". who knows why he isn't married. Maybe he came close, or maybe he was burned really bad and has shied away from relationships since then. Maybe he's gay. Who knows.
