About Mid April I went to a tax consultant to have my preview years tax reviewed, there was a lot of people there and waited 3hrs, when I got to see him, he told me that my tax would take quite some time and that it didn't matter if it gets done that day or another, so he kept my documents and asked me to come back next day, wich I did just to find out that he wasn't there and the secretary said that we was out. I kept calling and he was never there and one day I just showed up he was there but that night someone forced open the place and left a mess, so he couldn't see me that morning, and told me to come back the next day, I went the next morning to find we hasn't there. The secretary tells me that he will see me in a given day at a set hour to come I had been there already 8 times and the last two I just told the secretary that I only want my documents back, he doesn't seem to have the time to do it and I just want them back. Is there a legall way to get them back? what can I do?

Your tax consultant is required to return your documents. He has no legal rights to keep them. The only thing he can keep is any work he has performed. For example if there were forms or schedules that were not prepared with the original return, he would not have to give that to you if you didn't pay for them.

I'd call the IRS and report this. What he's doing is highly illegal.

Good luck.
