Happy Friday all!

During last weeks memorial weekend, I got a sunburn. I usually never burn and never peel. But unfortunately the top of my shoulders and face are starting to peel. I hate it! Is there anything I can do to speed up the process or hide it? I've tried lotion but it only helps for about 10 mins.. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks all!

Felicia

Trying finding an aloe jelly. There is nothing better for your skin. Unfortunately when you damage your skin, it takes time to heal, but aloe can definitely speed up the process a little.

I totally understand! Normally I dont peel when I burn and this is the first time. I found putting Aloe on it helps bunches! Right now even though im not sunburned, im still peeling. On your face I would put on moisturizer to get the moisture back into your skin. Putting moisturizer on your shoulders wouldnt be a bad idea for during the day. But I would definitely sleep with Aloe Vera lotion on you shoulder (not your face) at night.

Apply cool compresses w/ whole milk. Milk has lactic acid which will gently help the damaged skin flake off faster & the milk fat will help moisturize your skin. Then take a tepid shower w/ a gentle, moisturizing soap.

You can use 1/4 cup plain, whole milk yogurt w/ 1-2 tsp. honey as a face mask. Leave on for 15-20 mins. The yogurt will help remove the flakes & soothe your skin. Honey is a humectant & has anti-bacterial properties.

Whirl a cool cucumber in a blender - leave seeds in & only pulse a few times. You want it to be a thick mash. Mix w/ aloe gel to make a nice scrub. Add oatmeal to thicken if needed. Rub very gently over the affected areas & rinse well w/ cool water.

Apply vitamin E cream or aloe vera gel/lotion.

Dear Felicia,
I understand what your going through. Im a medium colored colored girl and we never get sunburned. Just darker. But on my vacation to the bahamas i did and the main thing that did the trick was sunburn Aloe. Its a cooling gel that worked on me for mine. And it can work on u 2! When it warms away, your sunborn will be the process of healing.
