This could be nothing serious or it could be very, very serious. You know what you need to do. Take the dog to the vet. While young dogs rarely get cancer it is not unheard of- cancer can occur in animals of any age.
My dog had a little bump on her back leg that looked like nothing to worry about. I actually noticed it while at the vet for her annual check up and only mentioned it to him because I was already there. If I had seen it at home I wouldn't have worried about it because it didn't look like any big deal.
It turned out to be a mast cell tumor- a form of skin cancer common in dogs. The surgery was done, she healed and it hasn't come back, but if I had waited it could have been fatal.
Now I have to regularly check my dog over to make sure there are no more bumps. If you notice strange lumps or bumps take your dog to the vet. If it's nothing you have peace of mind. If it's serious you have time to do something about it. It is scary to think what would have happened if I'd noticed that bump at home and decided it wasn't bad enough to see the vet about.
You should have that bump checked out but your dog's vet.

It sounds like a cyst. These are usually harmless, but its always good to take her to the vet and get it checked out just to make sure its nothing harmful. Don't worry, if the dog is only 1 year old its unlikely to be anything such as cancer. That usually happens in much older pets. But do take her to the vet. IF by chance it is harmless but the vet still wants to operate get a second opinion. Good luck!

This sounds like a sebaceous cyst. The vet will have a look at it but will not operate unless it changes or unless the dog has to have a GA for something else. Do not keep squeezing it around!

is it a scab or just a lump?
If it's a lump, it could be a calicium deposit, a cyst, or something worse but no one can tell you other than the Vet
Better to set up an appt with the Vet
My dog gets raised lumps that occasionally scab and fur falls out when you remove it, hers is allergies, seasonal and food.
Call the Vet

Take him to the vet for a exam. Most likely they will want to do blood work , xrays and further testing. I had a Basset hound with the same thing and she ended up having Cancer. I am not trying to scare you but things like this caught at a early age and early on are much easier to treat and most likely not end up taking your dogs life. My basset unfourtanly died b/c we adopted her at a older age ( 12 yrs old) and she wasnt strong enough for the treatment.

Sounds like an early lipoma (benign growth of fat cells). First thing you should do is not panic, secondly you should have it checked by the vet to confirm what it is, and remove it if necessary.
