No, I wouldn't react violently and I wouldn't justify violence... UNLESS (there's always a catch, huh?) the person disrespecting the religion is doing so violently towards people of that religion. I don't really care what someone thinks about my beliefs. If they don't like em, then they can not believe em. *wink*

I wouldn't justify violence in any religious matter. It's the individual that must "work out your own salvation with fear and trembling". We cannot force our faith upon one another, for we are only bound to "...compel them to come in", not drag them by the hair! We get angry over things that only God can have a hand in and we think that because we're "commissioned" to lead them to the truth, that we have the right to keep pouring it on if they seem unrepentant, unresponsive and etc. The Scripture plainly states that we are to "...shake the dust off your feet as a testimony against them" when attempting to spread the love of Christ through our witness and are shunned. People have carried their zeal WAY too far and I would never let mine interfere with trying to do what's right.

If I sensed you were open for debate, I'd discuss our differences. If you were in the mood to simply preach, I'd tell you to shut up and go away. If your beliefs invaded the laws I have to live by, influence what's taught in my children's schools, and decide what's fit for me to read or listen to--music or otherwise--my opposition grows in accordance.
But will I actively attack without any other provocation other than our disagreements? No. Absolutely not. I don't want to change what you believe--and haven't seen many Atheist posters here who do. We just want the religious freedoms we're entitled to under our Constitution.
The fact that I'm against violent opposition in religious views is part of the reason I started hanging out here. Enough people have died for other people's beliefs. And if Osama and others like him are an indication, those of us with like minds have to start speaking out that very message right now.
The Crusades are over with. Let's see that they stay that way.

No. No violence imposed on a religion for the sake of revenge is acceptable. That holds for all the world religions.

No I have not reacted with violence to anyone and many do not respect my faith. Nor would my faith or myself feel justified in violence. Christ taught no such violence.

No violence required. People who fight over anything are just eccentric egomaniacs that want to control and won't tolerate anyone elses right to believe what they want. Period..
