I change Stimpy's box once per week; more often if she wants. She gives me a certain look and then at the box. Yes, I'm well trained. It's a big one that hold 20lbs.

At least once per day. If you are at home when it has been used, clean it out as soon as you see that it is soiled.

People say that you can leave clumping litter for longer than standard litter, but personally I think it's better for the cat if you clean it out every day.

You should empty all litter at least once per week and clean out the tray with water, a sponge and some cat-friendly cleaning liquid.

At least once per year you should replace the litter tray, unless you use litter tray liners, in which case you may not need to buy a new litter tray so often.

If you have to leave the cat alone overnight, one litter tray should be sufficient and he should use it without any problem. If you are away for two nights or more, you might want to provide an extra litter tray.

If the cat is ever sick or has diarrhea, either clean the litter tray thoroughly or replace it. Nasty bugs can stick around and you don't want your kitty to keep getting a poorly tummy. They are very cheap to buy.

I hope this helped!

I would change it daily, there would be an unpleasent smell in the air if not. What i did with my cat was put the tray near to a door, every time it went into the tray pick the cat up and place it outside. This way it will no to go out when needing the loo, remove the tray and it's one trained cat.

Depends on how often it is used. The odd wee you can leave but poos can be rather smelly. If solid you can scoop it into a refuse bag but if ooghy and runny you will need to empty the tray.It varies from day to day.If the weather is nice and the cat is out most of the time the tray doesn't get used a lot,but if it is rainy the cat won't go out and uses the tray more often.

The more frequent that you scoop the litter box, the longer that the litter lasts. If you have a one cat household, every other day is sufficient. If you have a multi-cat household, it is important to do it everyday. If you neglect the cat box, not only will it smell, but your cats will find another place in the house to go.
In a single cat household, fully change the litter and wash out the box ATLEAST once a month and anytime that your cat has dirrhea or is sick. In a multi-cat household, depending one how often you are scooping out the litter, change the litter fully and wash the box ATLEAST twice a month, and anytime that a cat has dirrhea or is sick. Cats pass sickness through their feces, so anytime one of them is sick, it is always good to err on the side of caution and throw out all the old litter and wash the container.

I have two cats and two litter boxes.

I scoop out the boxes in the morning and before I go to bed. I change out the litter (and use pan liners) every other week (or as needed.)

You can buy a litter box cleaner, but I've found that diluted bleach works just as well to thoroughly disinfect the pan. Never use ammonia, it will make the pans actually smell worse!

You have to keep your litter pans as clean as possible. Cats are definitely finicky about their stuff-- and if they don't like the present accomodations they will create a new litter box in your house!

I empty mine by just taking the wet or mess out as its done then first thing in the morning completely change it and disinfect the tray that way you only renew the cat litter once a day less expensive

Clumping litter should be scooped every day. And a complete litter change once a month. Regular litter should also be cleaned every day. And a complete litter change at LEAST once a week.

o.k this depends on how many cats you have. i have 3 and 3 cat boxes and I change them every other day. So if you have one then try to keep it as clean as possible. Your cat will be more happy the cleaner the box is.Think about it this way, if every time you wen tto the bathroom and the tiolet had't been flushed all day and it's nasty and smelly would you be happy? so keep it as clean as possible and your cat will love you for it!

It depends. If you use clumping litter, you should remove any solid clumps every few days. You can usually go a month or two between completely changing the litter.

If you use non-clumping litter, then the litter should be changed completely on a weekly basis.
