I met this guy 2 weeks ago. We went out on 3 dates and on each one he took me out to dinner. Now he wants me to come over his house and watch a movie. Do you think he's being cheap? Do you think I should say no if he doesn't ask me to go out? Do you think he's just trying to get lucky?

1. Yes, I am new to dating - I am recently divorced from a 20+ year marriage. Forgive me for being confused.
2. I do like him and trust him enough to go to his house.
3. I am not a gold-digger. I'm just not familiar with regular dating rituals.
4. Thank you everyone for answering. You have made me feel better about this.

I think he's trying to tell you that he's not made of money. While it is nice to go out for dinner every now and again, if you are not volunteering to occasionally pick up the tab, he might just be tired of spending so much money all the time. Not that you aren't special, but let's be real here...you want him to take you out to dinner every weekend!!!??? Give the guy a break.

It's possible that he is just trying to get lucky. On the other side of the coin, maybe he just wants to spend some time alone with you to get to know you better. I don't think he's being cheap by asking you that. Considering you've only known this guy for two weeks, I would suggest a walk in the park or something in a more public place, but if you feel comfortable enough to be alone with him without worrying that he's some kind of nut, go for it, but ONLY if you feel comfortable enough to be in a private rather than a public place with him.

He wants to have more privacy w/ you. It will be easier to get to know you that way. He might be trying to get lucky, but after 3 dates at dinner it is time to do something different. There's nothing wrong w/ chillin and watching a good movie. Don't think about it too much. Just go over there and have a good time.

Where as I think part of it is the fact that he is hoping to "get lucky", but also cooking dinner for your partner is a lot more intimate and personal that going to a crowded restaurant. To answer your question with a question, do you like the guy? then go for it. See what happens, you can always say no.

I think you need to stay at home by yourself and stop dating if you're freaking out like this after only 3 dates, he prob. just is running a little low on cash geez, talk about makeing something out of nothing. And yes he is trying to get lucky, like EVERY single guy out there in the dating world, if he didn't want to get lucky he wouldnt' be with you.

Absolutely not! He just wants to do something different. :)

He may have a desire to "get lucky", but don't worry. This is the perfect chance to determine if he is truly the right guy. If you're not willing to "get lucky", then if he is a good guy he will respect that.

Accept the offer, and see what happens.

Are you serious?! OMG either you are new to dating or you are just a very selfish person. That's what normal people do, a few safe public dates, then you are alone with each other. Or were you expecting to not have to go grocery shopping anymore? Are you afraid to be alone with him? Then you should tell him that and not go out with him anymore.

I'd drop you like a hot potato. No dinners for you. You actually expect a man to buy you? What he isn't wooing you enough if he isn't spending money on you?

I think he does want to get lucky, he's a man. I think he deserves a woman who isn't interested in him just because he buys her dinner.

Don't you think experiencing the same date (even at a different location) can be pretty boring. Sounds like he really likes you and would like to have a more relaxed date where you can kick back and cuddle.

he may actually like you. but he has taken you on 3 dates and men think that they deserve whatever they can get. i think you could go over his house and hang out but if he tries something and you dont want to participate then you should tell him your not comfortable and if he acts like a jerk then you know that it was just for the booty.
