No good can come from transforming evil into entertainment. If you'd have shown this film to the Apostles, they would have been appalled.

When I was in high school, "The Innocents" starring Deborah Kerr hit the movie theaters and it seemed as if all the school's "popular people" were seeing it and raving about it. It was a different kind of horror flick. No blood. No gore. Just a persistent kind of creepiness that kids back then totally loved. It has a subjective denouement that, in 1961, had everyone discussing and debating.

I love horror movies. The Exorcist was good for entertainment, but nothing more. For a more realistic approach, I prefer The Exorcism of Emily Rose. It's actually based on a true story, and very little was added to make it more entertaining.
I consider myself to be a connoisseur of horror movies. I've seen MANY of them, and I love them, even the cheesy ones.

Hollywood defines (tries to) the view of religion to America. In general they do this and have no idea what Christianity teaches. Thus, people see and believe that what they see is real. Hollywood also defies Science with procedures that are not Scientific that leads the general public to think Science is what ever is depicted.
Truth is somewhat subjective in Hollywood

When I was younger I really liked horror movies. Now that I am older and a mother I have no need for them. I do not desire to bring anything into my home or around my children that I think is sick or has evil undertones. There is no need for me to watch someone hacking someone up or anything like that. Now I do enjoy a good suspenseful movie, but horror. . nope.

"The Exorcist" is a poorly made, crappy movie. Scary during the day, but outdated today.
Horror movies are amazing. I love watching scary movies. I own the Saw Trilogy. I would rather watch a scary movie than anything else.
I try to be a bit selective though.

Its dramatized but in several parts of the Bible Jesus encounters demon possessions and there is no question that the supernatural can interfere in our world.... So yeah, basically its possible, but the Exorcist is just a movie after all.

a horror movie is like the "portal" to evil thoughts and it gives a chance for an evil presence to take place. in other words horror movies is a way to let evil and fear into ur minds. just like kids not just bcuz its a scary movie it is bcuz they are vulnerable to evil and wen they close their eyes that presence is there it is very troubling especially in the dark bcuz that is where evil mostly exist.

These days most horror movies make me laugh. They rarely frighten me anymore.

There are real demons in this world that do seek to posess
a person. There are many accounts in the bible where this has happened.
