My girlfriend is 24 and she sometimes has a bump/lump on the lower left side of the back of her head---sort of behind her ear, but farther back. She thinks it might have something to do with her allergies. Does this make sense? Is it cause for concern? She tells me it hurts to touch it.

It's a swollen lymph node. It could definitely have to do with her allergies. The same thing happens to me from time to time when I am not feeling well. I brought it up to my doc and he told me to gently massage it and it should go away in a few days. I don't think it's necessarily cause for concern, but if it's very uncomfortable for her, she should have it looked at. Good luck!

It sounds like a swollen lymph gland. Sometimes allergic people (it happens to me, i know what i'm saying) get their Eustachian tubes so inflamed due to allergies that it "sucks" the ear drum in, causing a minor ear infection, thus swelling the glands. Make sure she is taking her treatment as prescribed, but if the lymph gland keeps swollen after 2 weeks, tell her to go to an allergy specialist to have it looked at.

Does she have any back problems? My bf and i go to the chiropractor and when hes waited to long and gets out of line he gets something similar. Where the bump is depends on what is out of line. Sounds like maybe you should talk to you local chiropractor!

you might have a Bot Fly larva developing under the skin from a egg that was laid there. give it a week or so and see if it pops out like an alien in the movies!
