There are many options: -
1. Without a car, Eurostar trains from Waterloo station in London, and with one or two train changes you can get as far to Italy, and probably further, if you have lots of time!! (people can go to china via trains if they have the time!!! - see http://www.seat61.com/Trans-Siberian.htm )
2. With a car, drive to dover or ashford and take the eurostar to calais (france), and continue your jounery from there. You can drive to africa by driving to the south of spain or gibralter and take the ferry to morroco
3. To cross the alantic, you can take cruise ships to america, and to go to hawali, drive from new york to LA (good luck!!!) and I really dont know if there is a boat from LA to Hawali
4. There are boats going to all sorts of the most remotest places on earth like Fuji, Accession Island, St helens etc

Either Paris or Brussels via the Chunnel train. Only takes about 2-3 hours and either place is a wonderful change.

Travel to Europe.You can get the boat from Dover to France and then you can drive to anywhere in Europe. It will take way longer but you will eventually get there.
you can also travel to America by boat aswell.

Mainland Europe and beyond? You can take a train all the way to france and from there any location connected by rail or road.
