Okay, so heres the situation:
I just moved into an apartment complex where a friend of mine stayed before and said it was really nice. (Im 7 months pregnant, by the way) And the actual apartment IS really nice. I LOVE the apartment. New appliances, counters, lots of space for the new baby, its just perfect. BUT there is a small breezway that seperates three other apartments from ours.
And our new neighbors seem to have a ritual of hanging out there. They bring out their tables and chairs and smoke weed, and drink, gamble, fight and do whatever in this small breezeway right in front of our door. I have to step over people when I come home or when I leave, there is always so much noise, and when they FINALLY go inside they leave trash and cigarette butts and beer cans EVERYWHERE. NOW. here is where i need help with the solution. IF i go and report the problem to the office, im afraid that it will be obvious who reported and I dont want them to retaliate. Dont wanna move...

Skip the office. Since they are smoking weed, it's your right to call the cops. Just tell them you want to keep it anonymous. If they create any further disturbances, expecially against you, talk to the police about helping you talk to the office and backing you up so that you can perhaps get the hooligans evicted.

I feel really bad for you. I know where you're coming from, i used to have a place like that. I guess you have to just deal with it until you can get out of there. In the meantime, call the landlord and tell them what's going on. you don't need to be dealing with that when you are about to have a baby. especially if there is illegal activity going on. or here's another idea > one night, when you know they are definitely smoking weed in there, call the police, tell them that your neighbors are outside your door smoking marijuana and ask them to send an officer over. tell the cops that you are pregnant and don't appreciate people breaking the law right outside your door. i bet they don't do it again. good luck

You must make up your mind either report them to the authorities or move.. The nice apartment is not worth violation of your privacy and peace of mind. You can ask to remain anonymous if you speak to the apartment manager or the police. Don't ignore the problem I seriously doubt if it will go away by itself. You shouldn't have to live under these circumstances. Good Luck on your decision, but make one.

Report them to the office and if they retaliate call the police. Most buildings do have a no loitering policy and if they are smoking and the smoke from it gets into your apartment I think that's grounds for endangering the welfare of a child.

well you are going to decide what you want to do . If you want a quiet place to live then I am afraid you will have to report them . Also report the fact that they leave beer cans and trash everywhere . see if some of the other neighbors are tired of it as well and have them complain also . good luck .

Have you tried talking to your neighbors about this? Maybe your friend that lived there before you was okay with all this. If you ask them nicely to move the party indoors or at least tone it down, they should understand. Just explain that you'll be having a baby soon and the baby will require a lot of sleep and you want to be sure he/she will be able to sleep.
If you are afraid of retaliation, just be as polite about the situation as you can and watch your back. I wouldn't recommend calling the cops, I would talk to them first. Then, if their behavior continues, call the landlord.

I would report them to the management. You could also call the police. It's your right to live in a quiet safe environment.

I'd report them to the apartment. Just act like you didn't. Or. .tell them you got reported too and you can both "wonder" who did it.

call the police if there smoking pot! the police will keep who called to themselves if requested by you......you have a Baby to think about......
