I not big into golf, but, have played and have some clubs.
pw is a Power Wedge? 3 deals with the angle on the face that hit the ball. The more angle gives more of a curve up in flight and less distance. Less angle gives further distance with less of an arch.
Well, I just guessing, but, thought I give it a "Shot" and see where I land.

Dang, I was close, but, no cigar. It a Pitching Wedge. ;-)

as far as a set of golf clubs go it means that the set of clubs has a 3 iron through a pitching wedge.

It means 3 iron though Pitching Wedge. The lower the number of the club, the lower the loft and the further the ball will go when hit with that particular club.
