When we got our dog we wanted to find something original but not corney so we looked up old Greek and Roman god/goddess names and now we have a dog named Isis (which is actually Eqyptian and is symbolized as the archetypal wife and mother - she's uber loyal and loving) and a cat named Apollo (Greek God of light and music and healing ~> petting a cat's good for the spirit ;) ) My in-laws have a giant German Sheppard named Titan - get creative and funky with it! have fun!

Sakari means sweet in Eskimo. You could also try Divine. Venus is the Roman goddess of love and beauty. Since she doesn't bark, Calypso is the goddess of silence. I try to go for unique names for my animals. Hope I helped!!

Here's what you do, find a map of Alaska, find a name of one of the towns you like. When I was a kid we had a husky named Kuska Kaiyuka.

I like Gibson (Gibby for short) or you could just call her dog-say the letters-the word is kind of cool.

Think back to what the first thing you said when you saw her.
Like, wow, beautiful, pretty, etc. Then use that word for her name.
