things have changed so much. once, independence meant self-respect etc. moving out is a great opportunity to learn about yourself, cultivate responsibility etc. a lot of other responders will highlight the difficulties i'm sure--bills, loneliness, responsibilities, solitude fatigue. to be sure, all this is true. the kick is that this is all a good thing. it is difficult to really know yourself if you constantly take the path of least resistance, the easiest road. if you are in a crowd, you move with the crowd. on your own, you will not just be moving from one entertainment venue after the other--that is the life of a child. a good opportunity to grow--not just age.

I think it's good if you're a private person. But if you're somebody who needs to be around people all the time then it might not be. I personally like living with people. I'm a very private person and very shy as well, but I like to live with other people just so that I get exposed to different kinds of person and learn from the experience.
If you're an easy person to get a long with, why not live with someone... get a roommate or try something different.

The advantages are that you are the only person on the lease, second if you don't want someone there you can ask them to leave. Third, if you want quiet time, or you time then you can have that all the time. I'm comparing to the roommate ot girls situation. Disadvantages, could be lonliness, more money for you to pay for rent. Lots of things to consider, great idea? can't tell ya.

well living alone is great..u dont have worry about waiting for the bathroom,or having a messy roomate, also u dont have to worry that there isnt any food in the fridge.
the disadvaneges:u feel lonely,if u dont have a job its gonna be hard to pay the rent, also cleaning the apartment is gonna be hard if its a big one.

When I was living alone it was great, staying up as late as I wanted. Did not have to worry about waking up any roomates when I came home whenever. Then I got married. Enjoy

Advantage: You set your own rules and be independent [which is good]. Disadvantage: You can't have as much food as you want, enjoy things at home without worrying about other stuff[ such as laundry, etc.]

Privacy and freedom. Sounds good to me. I think I would be too afraid to live alone though. I would have to have a friend or lover there w/ me.

It is a wonderful ideal. Only because its your space; you don't have to deal with other people habits, and you have peace of mind. You can call the shots in your space, and you learn more about yourself. Good luck and have fun.
