I get animal dreams quite often .. usually I dream abt a balck dog attacking me ... growling .. I hold his mouth so that he does not bite ... I furiously throw him away ... he still keeps comming back ... This dream repeated many times ... ultimately I had a dream where the dog did not attacked me .. came near me .. sniffed me ... n went away ...!! The dog dream did nto reoccur for sometime then .. yesterday I dreamt of lions in my own house ... small cuddle cubs ...I am playing with them .. feed them ... n they turn into huge lions .. rooaring with hunger ... I am scared ... I run out .. locking them in the house ... try to call my friends to help .. but can't find any ..!! ultimately I decide to drag them out my self ... N with great difficulty I am successful ...
Does this all mean something or just senseless...

The fight against the black dog represents a fight against your emotions / depression, generally. The subsequent dream about lions represents pride. Only you will understand the total significance to this, but seems like you have been battling.

The animals you see in your dreams represent spirits which are warring against your soul. The black dog represents a wicked, immoral spirit which is trying to connect itself to your life. Sometimes, you can identify these spirits through people you know in your life. It sounds like you had some success in dealing with this spirit. The reason the black dog did not return after sniffing you is because he lost your scent. Meaning, the thing that drew him to you in the first place was gone. Or the avenue which was open in your life for him to come was no longer there. As for the lions they represent spirits which you entertained in the beginnins, but as time went on they turned into a stronghold in your life. And these spirits were now strong enough to devour you. I don't think recurring dreams are senseless- I think that they are trying to send a message.
I'm no dream reader or anything of that manner, but I was told that animals in dreams are trying to tell you something for your benefit, not to hurt you.
To me, both the dog and lion are trying to give you a hint to be stronger in life. Maybe physically stronger, maybe mentally.
This is a bit weird, but I used to have a recurring dream about an odd colored camel that was always a source of comfort. More than one person mentioned that the camel may be trying to give me a gentle hint that I should be more adaptable in life.
Maybe you should look at [serious] sites and books about dream/animal guides and animal totems.

From bad Black dog's, to cuddle with pup's Lions, of course they will grow and they will give you problems, bat what is life with out problems, Nothing!, The good always improved even in their dreams. good luck.

The dog most likely is your subconciouness's projection of a difficulty. The difficulty continues to arise and you eventualy manage to overcome it.

Dreaming of beast of prey mostly means that there is some unknown danger approaching you. Especially when you dream they're in your house, for me it means someone is in your circle of acquintances who has no good or honest intentions. So take care.
