That just shows what a sex crazed world we live in, that two men can't love each other as brothers, best friends, be willing to die for one another, and someone says they are gay?
There are different kinds of love. Not all love has anything to do with sex.
Do you think that God would have made David king if he was homosexual, something that is detestable to him? Wasn't David punished for what happen with Bathsheba?
There are no verses that allow homosexuality in the bible. That is just homosexuals grasping at straws, trying to justify their lifestyle that is in opposition to God's laws. These are God's laws Lev. 18: 22; 1 Cor. 6: 9-11; Rom 1: 26 & 27
Homosexual Pastor is an oxymoron.

There are no verses that say David was gay.
It does state that David and Jonathan "loved" each other, but the Hebrew word there is one that means a strong friendship and has not sexual implications. (See 1 Samuel 18 and 20) And when David was about to flee from Jonathan's father Saul, it says that they embraced and kissed. If you have ever been in the Middle East you will know that men commonly greet each other with a kiss on the cheek. There is no sexual overtones in that action.
In 2 Samuel 6:14 it tells about David bringing the ark into Jerusalem. It states there "And David danced before the LORD with all his might; and David was girded with a linen ephod."
An ephod is a robe worn by priest that covers from the neck to below the knees with long sleeves. Sounds like David was pretty well covered to me. David's wife Michal (who was a daughter of Saul) saw him dancing and though he was making a fool of himself. So she later (in verse 20) accuses him as having danced "unveiled" before the women of Jerusalem. When in fact he was covered from neck to below the knees. Because of that lie, God prevented her from ever having any children. It is this lie that is used to say that david was an exhibitionist, when the Bible specifically states he was not.

there are many verses that speak of homosexuality being a sin, Romans chap. 1 for just one- HOWEVER- I am a Christian myself, and there are many verses speaking of other sins, that happen daily in the church- gossip, lying, hatred, etc. I agree that being gay is a sin, however as a believer, I also know that those of us who call ourselves Christians have to remember that we still sin too- we are to become like Christ yes,- and if gays do not change their living as believers, then that is wrong- but how many times have we continued to do something that is sin, and excuse it. No David and Jonathan were not gay!

There isn't any. Some might use these scripture...1 Samuel 18:1 When David had finished speaking with Saul, Jonathan become deeply attached to David, and loved him as he loved himself.1 Samuel 18:3 Then Jonathan made a covenant with David, because he loved him as he loved himself. Samuel 18:4 Jonathan stripped himself of the robe he was wearing and gave it to David, along with all the clothes he was wearing, even his sword, his bow, and his belt.
They are taken out of context.
momof2, you're right no sin is worse than another, but they do not repent of that sin if they continue to live the lifestyle...it is one thing to give into those tendencies and repent, but quite another to live the way you want with no remorse for the sin you committed.

1) David and Jonathan were NOT gay.
2) There is NO verse in the bible that allows homosexuality, but there IS a verse that says: "And EVERYONE who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." (Caps mine) Acts 2:21
3) Somebody's sexual preference or any other behavior is NOT what determines their salvation. Salvation is determined by / found in the GRACE OF GOD through our FAITH IN CHRIST ALONE.
Obviously it is possible for ALL sinners to be Christians, otherwise Jesus died for nothing...and I know better than that!

Show me which verse explicitly allows the substitution of the capital letter U for the second-person pronoun in the Bible. Show me which verse explicitly allows the use of the Internet in the Bible.
this is a tiresome undertaking. Let's cut to the chase: nowhere in the Gospels does Jesus have word 1 to say about same-sex love or desire. But he has a great deal to say against pharisaical hypocrisy, intolerance and condemnation of others gussied up in the drag of religious piety, and the rest of the dire sins that homophobic Christian zealots commit daily. Don't use the Bible as a weapon to attack your neighbor; that's a violation of its intent.

Being gay is a sin. In the Bible there is a story where Lot and his wife were like in charger of this city i do not remeber what the city is called but the city had lots of homosexuals and this made God made so he said leave and do not look back . Lot's wife looked back at her old live where there was soo much sin and she turned into salt. So i think that made it obviuos about being gay is a sin.

I think David and Jonathan would have killed anyone who implied to their faces they were gay.
I do think there will be people in heaven who still struggled with same sex attractions when they died (similarly people who struggled with lying, adultery, etc.). Where I THINK God will draw the line has something to do with what they loved most: Him or the sins they were fighting.
