I have three baby cats which I love to bits, all under a year old and the middle one is so lazy - it's so funny! She won't jump over the gate in the garden to get back inside, she'll sit there and yowl until I open it for her. The other two are crazy kids and run and jump everywhere, I can't believe how different all their personalities are - does anyone else have cats that are total opposites to each other? Love to hear your stories!

They've just all been for a check up at the vets and they're all fine and dandy!

Yes, when I was younger I had two cats called Bubbles and Squeak - both sisters!
Bubbles was trouble! She used to fish the Koi out of my neighbors pond (They were worth alot of money!!) - Thank god he never found out it was our cat! lol She also used to leave us lots of presents.. Frogs.. Birds.. Mice.. Which was lovely to find when you were just getting out of bed..
However Squeak was sooo lazy! She used to lay on her back on the window ledge in the sun until she fell off! Me and my sisters used to push her around in a pushchair - she used to love being cuddled up in blankets where as Bubbles wouldn't go anywhere near it!

I have three cats as well, but thry're all at least 2 years apart.
Mousis is the ringleader. He is 12 years old and fat as all get out. He is lazy due to his age and weight, but you'll never find a sweeter cat. He purrs when you just talk to him, and loves to lay on your chest.
Pippin will be 5 in September. He's a crazy little boy, always running around the house and making a racket. He has his lovey moments, but I wouldn't call him affecionate overall. He's the healthiest of our cats, very slender. When he wants attantion, he won't hesitate to get in your way, whether it's blocking the tv or computer screen or waking you up at 2 in the morning.
Merri will be 3 next month and he is a couch po-tay-to. he's a fat little boy, also very affecionate but not in a cuddly way. He prefers to be petted. He is also morbidly afraid of windows and baloons.
Cats are lazy on average, hyper cats are rare. Cats normally sleep about 18 hours a day total, in short little cat naps. Some cats sleep less, some more.

I have the most fantasticly lazy cat, he is big, old, fat and grey,
The other day whislt sunbathing on the windowsil he got that relax he slipped off I have never seen anything so funny, but when he fell on the foloor he just gave the window such a dirty look as if it was the windows fault,
He has also walked pasted a candle and set his tail alight, not suprisingly he did shift some then (He wasn't harmed)
I think you should be chuffed to have a lazy cat, he will be top when its cold in winter to keep your feet warm.
A BIG YEEAAAAHHHHHHHHHH to lazy cats

Both of my cats were feral kittens when I adopted them two years ago. Sophie loves having her belly rubbed, but is too lazy to come to me for affection. She thinks it's okay just to flop wherever she is, so I have to go over and fuss her. (The vet told me this is the lazy cat's form of greeting). She never meowed for the first year and even now she sounds like a kitten. She's obedient and is generally well behaved.
Merlin on the other hand is full of energy and bounces all over the place. He doesn't like to receive affection, but always tries to wash us, particularly at night when we're going to bed. He also never stops talking and is much more mischievous.
I love them having such different personalities and they get on well, so they're fun to watch playing together.

I have 4 cats all completely different to each other. Bob(14) is huge and ginger and has to be nursed like a baby to go to sleep, Nelson(14) is frightened of his own shadow but screams so loud at cats that dare to tread on his territory, Judy(1) our youngest hasn't grown she is a midget cat and has severe little person (cat) syndrome and must viciously attack ANYTHING bigger than her (and she usually wins) and a stray has recently joined the ranks and my 4 year old niece named him Mr Handsome(?) and I think he was dropped on his head cos I have never seen such a thick cat in all my life, runs into doors, tries to jump on things and completely misses I think he's a bit retarded ah.

I've got a great story about our lazy cat...He's about 30 pounds, no kidding, he's not overweight, he's just a huge cat. Well one night he was outside and in the morning came home. My husband went to let him in, but as soon as he opened the door, Oscar (that's the cat's name) ran over to something on the deck. My husband went over to see what it was and it was a mouse-in a mouse trap. Oscar was so proud of his hunting abilities he sat there and waited to be praised about this mouse he "captured". It was the funniest thing I've ever seen! That was the only mouse that he ever got outside-although he has got some in the house, but I will never forget that one though. Ha Ha Ha!

While you open the gate for your cat, she will not jump over it.
She is no lazier than any other cat - just smart enough to turn you into a servant.
I had a cat who taught himself to open doors. Another one figured out how to ring the front doorbell when he was ready to come in from the garden.

One of my cats is very lazy and fat. I could never get her to play or react to catnip. I put her on a reducing diet but it didn't work; apparently she manages to hunt mice without expending much energy.
The other cat is really a kitten and playful. Somehow she convinced the fat cat to play with her and to enjoy catnip. This has been good for the fat cat, but she's still fat.

My cat, Dave, is possibly the laziest cat I've ever known, he sleeps on the sofa all night, only getting up in the morning to eat brekkies, go outside to the loo and then wander off upstairs to sleep on my bed - all day. If you try to move him he makes himself into a dead weight! On hot sunny days he has been known to go out, to sleep by the pond! When I call my other cats in for food, you have to physically wake him up and take him to his bowl, lazy and spoilt!
