I don't see that it's any different now than it was 20 yrs ago. The only major difference I see is the media itself... 20 yrs ago, not everyone had cable (there was no satellite at all then)... those of us who did have cable didn't get all the wonderful channels we get now (I think there was about 40 channels back then... compared to 100+ now). If CNN existed at all, it wasn't a major network... and we have the internet... We see more of it from different places, but that doesn't mean there is actually MORE happening. We just get to watch it live now.

What makes you think it's any different now than it has ever been? Some humans have always been rude, mean, cruel and uncaring about death since the beginning of humankind on the planet. Did you think this was a recent thing?

We see it on tv all the time, we've become immune. Then of course, we have the ability to be as rude as we want on the net without consequences, hence all the bashers and trolls. Once upon a time people were accountable for their actions, not anymore, at least on the net.

I don't think it is easier. I think that people are scared. What you see as them being rude and mean is them crying out and asking for an understanding of why the world is so messed up.

I think we've become more self absorbed as a society. The belief now is that it's ok to put your feelings ahead of others. People no longer restrain themselves for the good of the group, if they're angry, they take it out on others, if they're tired, the act cranky to anyone that comes their way. I find it frustrating too.

People have always been mean and rude, history has shown us this.
The reason people are mean and rude is because all humans are naturaly evil. While some would claim that we are all basicaly good and our inviroments influence us, this would be circular reasoning, since one would blame the problems of society on those who comprise it.

I don't know if it truly is more common. I think technology has caused us to be more exposed to it. Violence and depravity, cruelty and suffering have all been around forever. They were probably more common before a firm rule-of-law could be established within civilization.

The bible tells us in the later days things will grow worse, and worse. We are living in it know, the world will get a lot worse than it is now. Pray for your family and loved ones for Gods protection and guidance.
