The way I see it. Our individual punishment for sinning is eternal banishment in Hell. Therefore, when Christ took on our punishment, He stepped out of time and took that punishment upon himself for each one of us. So He suffered more than any one of us ever can know.

Lets see have you ever bleed from every pore while praying?
Been beaten so bad that you were almost unreconizable as a man?
Did you have a crown made of like 1inch thorns shoved on your head afterwards?
Have to carry a splintery wooden cross (I seriousy doubt it wa a nice pretty sanded one like we have in church)on your back several miles in the desert heat with people throwing things at you?
Get nailed to that cross?
Die an agonizing death?
Now if you did any of this did you do even though you are innocent? That's what he did for us. I know we suffer now and again and some more than others but I can't think of some one who sufferd more than him for you. Yes diease is a long hard painful road. but as to suffer more than he did I believe is impossiable.

If you are a Christian, you should not even have to ask that question. Jesus died on the cross, taking upon Himself the sins of all the world. He endured pain by taking upon himself the weight of all sin, (the consequence of is death), and if you will read Isaiah 53 you will see that "by His stripes (whipping), we are healed. So he also endured pain and sickness on our behalf.

Ok, I will admit, it is difficult sometimes to imagine what He endured, but believe me, He endured more than any of us ever will. And He did it all for us. You and me, and everyone else, no matter when they may have lived, or when they will have lived.

The glory of it all, is that He rose again, and He has given us a way to be forgiven for all sins we committ.

Hope you believe.

This is how the bible describes it...

Isaiah 53:4-6 (Contemporary English Version)
He suffered and endured great pain for us, but we thought his suffering was punishment from God. He was wounded and crushed because of our sins; by taking our punishment, he made us completely well. All of us were like sheep that had wandered off. We had each gone our own way, but the LORD gave him the punishment we deserved.

None of us will suffer what he did in a spiritual sense when he took all of our sins upon himself. But in a physical sense, many Christian martyrs have suffered deaths worse than Crucifixion. The torture inflicted on believers by the crazed ex queen of madagascar comes quickly to mind.

You are alive, so I'd say Christ is the winner. If you have him in your life you no longer suffer with disdain you have long suffering with joy and happiness.I mean that we all have trials and tribulations we can get through them with joy if we have a constant pray life and let God do the driving.

Ask yourself this question. Could you endure what Jesus Christ did, being whipped to a pulp, then being nailed on the cross to pay for your own sins? Our suffering is zero compared to what Christ went thru for us.

Have you ever been flogged and beaten? Have you ever hung on a cross for one minute, let alone for hours in pure agony. Are you Jesus, who was uncreated, knew long before the foundations of the world, that He would come to earth to die this horrible death, so we do not have too? I think this answer is easy.
