You need to eat or drink 500 to 1000 extra calories each day to gain about one-half to one pound each week. Do not skip meals or snacks. You may need to plan time for healthy meals and snacks if you are very busy. Eat larger portion sizes (or second helpings) during your meals.
Eat healthy foods that are higher in calories:
Bread: Choose heavy breads such as honey bran, rye and pumpernickel instead of lighter breads such as white bread. Add peanut butter, margarine, jam, or honey for extra calories.
Cereals: Granola, Grape-Nuts® and Raisin Bran® are healthy choices and have more calories per serving than puffed rice or corn flakes. The serving size of a cereal is listed on the food label. You can also add more calories to cereals by adding nuts, raisins and other fruits.
Fruits: Bananas, pineapple, mangos, raisins, dates and dried fruit have more calories per serving than watery fruits. Some examples of watery fruits are watermelon, grapefruit, apples, and peaches. A serving of fruit is one medium banana or apple, one-half cup chopped or canned fruit, or one-fourth cup of dried fruit.
Vegetables: Starchy vegetables such as corn, carrots, and peas have more calories per serving than less starchy vegetables. Some examples of less starchy vegetables include green beans, broccoli and summer squash. A serving of vegetables is one cup of raw, leafy vegetables or one-half cup of cooked or chopped raw vegetables. Add margarine, almonds and cheese such as mozzarella for extra calories. Stir-frying vegetables with canola or olive oil will also add extra calories.
Meats: Cook chicken or fish in a small amount of canola or olive oil. Red meats such as beef, pork, and lamb have more calories but they also have more saturated (SACH-er-ay-ted) fat. Saturated fat is a type of fat that may increase blood cholesterol. When you eat red meats, choose leaner cuts. Some examples of lean cuts of red meat are round or sirloin steak, ground round, fresh or boiled ham, or center loin chop.
Beans and legumes: Lentils, lima beans, chili beans, bean burritos and other dried beans are high in calories. These foods are good choices because they also provide carbohydrates and protein.
Also, be sure to lift weights/drink protein shakes. That should help you bulk up.

You are one of the lucky ones. I have to exercise like a maniac to maintain my weight. I have twin aunts who have this problem. Both are 5foot7 and weigh 110. (not by choice) Their doctor told them to use weight gain. If you don't know what it is---It is a powder that body builders use to gain weight and build muscle. You can get it at GNC. My aunts said it tastes awful but they went from a size 5 to a size 9 in a matter of months. The only problem for them was they have to keep drinking it or they lose the weight. I don't know if this helps you but it's an idea. Also don't stop eating if you decide to try it.

Vector Energy Bars!
I did not want to gain weight, I wanted the energy to lose it, but after eating only 2 bars in a week, I put on 15 pounds! It took me another month to get that weight back off. I gave the rest to my friend, a thin, long muscled guy. He really likes them.

Your nuts. Your height, age, and weight is normal. Why bother gaining weight by eating or anything else like that.
When you're in your 20's your metabolism will slow down and your stomach will be bigger.
Why don't you just lift weights... thats a better alternative to just eating whatever. Muscle weighs more than fat.

I've been trying to gain weight for years...
I think we just have to be thankful that we don't gain weight easily. Most people are desperate to LOSE it. I do, however, have a little success by adding those liquid supplements to my meals - those drinks like ENSURE and SLIMFAST (I know that's a diet drink, but taken with food, it's a lot of extra calories).

Have you tried lifting weights? This will actually help to bulk up (in a good way) rather than slimming your body.
Try eating lots of protien rich foods and eat larger portions of real food and not so much dessert type stuff.

It depends what you eat. Try eating high protein foods or protien bars. Go to your local gym and ask about body building and they should be able to provide a suitable diet routine.

My brother was lean all through high school and college then once her got out of school and was working the pounds started to find him. He now wished he had your problem again.
Honor yourself for what you are now. At Fifteen you are not supposed to have the body of a twenty or thirty year old.
