Wine has different alcohol levels but it's not depending on the grape variety, more that in the coupage and the winery. Check our the label and of course the more alcohol, the faster you will get drunk.
Best reds for me is Chianti or a Merlot, soft to go with anything and never boring. Whites I love Blanc de Blancs, Chardonnay, fresh and a bit dry.
Brandy... Torres balanced to be mixed or drink alone.

The only real factor within the wine itself is percentage of alcohol in the wine. To answer the queston yes it would get you drunk faster, everything else being equel, because shirz would have a higer alcohol content than pinot grigio (99% of the time at least) other factors are things like body weight (of the drinker not the wine) if and how much you eat before drinking, if you are on drugs of any kind, how much sleep you have had. So in conclusion if you really want to get drunk you should stay up all night doing drugs without eating drinking shiraz mixed with vodka. Hope this helps.

entirely depends on the alcohol level of either wine and how fast you drink them. I would probably buzzed faster on the pinot grigio, because I like it cold and not warming up on me as I hold it in my hand. The shiraz is a red and can sit at room temp longer.
As far as my fave wine flavor. Probably zinfandel (the real red stuff). I had one once that tasted just like liquid black berry jam. My favorite brand is Wild Horse from Central Coast California. They are a client of mine that I print labels for. And their Zinfandel is very good with food and overall consistent from year to year.

For a very good wine thats reasonably priced, try Greg Normans Cab-merlot mix. Its very good. Most wines get you drunk at the same rate. If your just looking to get drunk look for Carlo rossi blush jug of wine. Guarenteed to get you hammered.
