God surely understands. He still sets a standard for us to strive towards. He also promises a way out of sin. In the bible it says roughly that whatever sin you have, others have the same problem but that God provides a way to conquer it.

The way is to trust Him to help. When I am weak, then I am strong. This means that when we admit we cannot do it alone and we trust God for help, we get strong.

It is a fallacy to think it takes time.

If you know the harm of lying, you could let it go. If a snake crawls up your arm, you don't stop to identify it and take the time to examine it and time to determine what action to do...you simply brush it off immediately.

It takes time to physically go from place to place, but internally it takes no time to change. Investigate deeply into lying, find out what the harm is...go into it deeply. With understanding, it would stop immediately.

It is not hard to abandon sin...we just don't want to make the effort to understand deeply and/or really give the sin up.

Hello,

Sure, if you look at this in a historical perspective leaving out your faith and spiritual feelings on the mainstream religions you can see that God does understand... very well. There was his first convenent with Noah in the flood; he tried again with Moses and the ten commandments; Jesus and his death on the cross and to 1.2 billion believers in the world, Muhammed.

The pattern clearly seems to show that God has tried four different approaches to keep mankind on the straight and narrow and is aware humans fall flat on their faces.

Yes God understands how hard it is to avoid sin. That's why so many people don't care and sin. That's what Satan is hoping for. It's the easier way to do.
But always remember this.

1 Corinthians 10:13 -- No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.

God bless and keep praying.

With the heart man believe unto righteousness. Until you are ready to give up lying, you are going to continue. God says love me and my Son more than you love yourself.

Not only does He understands He applies mercy by sending His son Jesus to forgive you of all your sins. Sin is driven by Pride. To see sin present always watch the first word used. It is always going to be "I". Notice: I know I lie.

Yes he does, that is why he sent his son to die for our sins. Also the Jews and Muslims both have purification rituals. God understands we are not perfect, but he does expect us to try and do right.

Yes, the bible says Jesus was tempted in all manner like man and yet was without sin. Jesus had to see how hard it was , but He kept His focus on His purpose and was victorious.

'Abandoming' lying is an extremely difficult thing to do.... If 'god' was real, he would understand. But 'god' is not real, so just forget about it and 'abandom' the thought entirely.
