Meditation is simply a state of mind, whatever your spiritual or religious beliefs, meditation is of benefit as it quiets the mind, which has tremendous health, emotional & mental benefits.

Yes.
Edit: Ooops, Pam R beat me and has more details. Generally, Meditation (like prayer!) works within the person doing the meditation (or prayer). Nobody except theists believes otherwise. The science (they test this stuff?) indicates that the external god or belief in same has no impact on the benefits of either activity. The science also indicates that prayer for others is ineffective, thought that is off topic.

Meditation attempts to bring about coherence of human thought and peace to human mind and hence fundamentally addresses the human individual. Why the word 'human' repetitively is used because of meditation's specific reference to only humanity in general irrespective of all conceptual and religious beliefs.

Mediation is good for the mind and the soul no matter your religious beliefs.
Just because I have trouble believing in religion does not mean that I am not a spiritual person.

I'm a non believer and I occasionally sit back and unwind. I guess you could call it meditation because I just sit and breathe slowly. It helps me relax, let go of stress, and unwind, so yes, it's very beneficial. Everyone has their moments they need to unplug, stop thinking, and just breathe.

I think so. Meditation has been proven to lower blood pressure, even is temporarily. It also helps you just calm down, wind down and get your thoughts in order. Religion doesn't have to play a part in that.
