Almost nobody would care if they were not cute.
I find it ironic how so many environmentalists point out how the native Americans lived in harmony with nature and we don't, so we should me more like them. But it is by killing seals and whales for food and clothes that the northern natives lived for thousands of years. And it is mostly native hunters that do this killing, although they do it today for cash to buy food and clothes and not to directly eat the meat and wear the skins, because they have to live in our cash economy now.

I for one would be upset with the killing of anything in such a cruel fashion - except maybe the people who swing the clubs. These animals are beat to death in front of the mothers! And do not tell me the mother's do not know what is going on because they are merely animals. They are better mothers than some humans - they don't hang their kids in closets..
The native americans in the past used every part of the animal for their existence. In today's world, we do not need to wear real fur other than for the person's vanity, ego and as a status symbol. If people today would not want fur and illegal animals items, the poachers would be out of business.
I disagree here with the one answer that stated that cows are killed humanely. Maybe healthy animals are but check out - downed animals. At a slaughter yard an animal that falls down and breaks a leg or whatever is left there to die with no food, water etc. I've seen videos with all these people just walking by them until someone comes along and buys them cheaply. Where do you think your cheap cuts of meat come from?

Dear Spanky,
If your concerned with our habitat, you should be. Just think about this it's not that their so cute. There's worse things happening to our baby seals, their going extinct. Dose that clear the air, that means our world as we know it will cease when our marine mammals start fading, then everything starts a distruction course. That's why we need help from the marine scientist rescue crews'. And by the way tarantulas are cute too-they can be raised as home-pet's. If you need further pet advice go to pet resources.
Sincerely,

They're totally helpless and are being slaughtered for the purpose of human vanity. They're beat to death so their pelts will look good on some rich, selfish b*tch like Paris Hilton.

Any living thing on this earth is worth fighting for. Every one and every thing is put on this earth for a purpose. I wish more people cared about other things besides money, clothes, etc. You would see more peace and happiness.

It is a controlled harvest. The population is being managed. Clubbing is humane and efficient. A single blow the the pup's head and it's over.
