Stay away from loans that require some sort of "upfront" money. Most legitimate lenders realize your don't have any money and that's the reason your are seeking a loan. I would advise my bank that someone has my bank account number and to keep you advised of any suspicious activity. You can usually advise your bank to advise if activity is noted in certain areas. (i.e. Spain, Africa).. GOOD LUCK

I do not think it is wrong, I KNOW it is bogus. It is a common scam known as an "advance fee loan" Fortunately, you didn't fall for it completely...but if you gave any personal info, you might want to place a fraud alert on your credit report. Contact any one of the three credit reporting agencies to do this (one will take care of all three).
Call your bank immediately, and let them know what happened. You may need to go so far as closing the account and opening a new one.

It's never a good idea to try to get a loan from a person or company you've never heard of, especially if it's from the Internet. You are smart if you haven't sent the money. Just tell him that you changed your mind.

It is a scam. I have been offered deals from Africa and almost ended up in big trouble. Please send no money. Anything out of the country they are not under our real estate and banking laws. You can get in over your head with no legal back up. Please big careful. If your instincts are saying WATCH OUT. Than your right. Never go against your gut feelings.

All I got to say is that you must have either horrible credit or have been pretty damn desperate to be talking to a guy in Spain via e-mail to get a loan.
Will no one in America loan you money?

It's a scam, and even though they don't have your social security number, they can still pull it off with your bank account number. You need to close that account immediately and open a new one.

RUN the other way.
Obtain a loan in your city...that way, if something goes wrong, you have a better chance of being able to see someone in order to talk about it.
