Should be a cracking fight. Was nice to wake up and read that this morning.
Kessler has pretty much relied on bullying fighters with his jab, which happens to be a punch Joe has NEVER had a problem with. I'm not saying Kessler's got nothing else, I'm just saying his usual tactics will probably not work on Joe and he'd be a fool to try. So my guess is you won't see the typical Kessler and he'll be putting far more combinations together than usual.
Hitting Joe with those combinations is another thing. Joe has never been especially difficult to hit, but the guy does have a good chin, regardless of whether or not you think he's been hit by anyone with KO power before. And it's not easy to throw combinations when you've got a faster man 'slapping' you as most of you would put it. Slaps, I might add, that have knocked out 32 opponents. TKO or otherwise, that's still impressive. I wish I could slap like that. Eubank has also stated that Joe hit harder than Benn did. And if you think either Eubank or Benn were feeble, then you should stop posting here. Immediately.
Kessler does have a lot more in his arsenal than Lacy did though, and Joe isn't getting any younger.
Personally, I think if both fighters are on their game, Kessler will take a UD purely because the fight is in Denmark. I think Joe will have to have another fight of Lacy proportions to take the belts away from Kessler in his hometown.
I would love to see Joe win however and either way, it's great that he's finally taken the fight.
Just for info, this will be the third time Joe's fought abroad. More than many of the top American fighters in any division combined. So the 'homesick' thing is a bit of a retarded statement really, isn't it?
Cheers.

Calzaghe fights best when he is fighting an opponent who is a real threat Kessler is certainly that. Fighting abroad could be a bit dodgy for him though, he needs to go for the KO rather than be content with a points win as it may not happen for him fighting in Denmark. Check out Wayne S,s answer above thats pretty much spot on.

baz31 is spot on for my section. austin: Why this type of vast factors margin to Kessler? And whilst the combat is in Wales too! he's rapid, yet of course no tournament for Joe's velocity. If Kessler does take it on factors, then hats off to him, although this is going to likely be plenty closer than you're suggesting until Calzaghe is KO'd. Robert R: i don't comprehend the place this connection with clinching comes from. possibly you have published interior the incorrect thread? hugh2: Agreed. American judges to maintain it a truthful combat. because of the fact all of us recognize that human beings love Joe and the actuality that there are actually a truthful few British warring parties overshadowing the yanks. stable thought...

Calzaghe is a great fighter but I do not know enough of Kessler it would be stupid to disregard easily a double world champion. It should be Calzaghe if it goes ahead. Superfights with Calzaghe have a habit of falling through.

Joe throws looping, slapping punches. Kessler throws straight, hard combinations. Kessler fights like Kelly Pavlik. Calzaghe fights like Edison Miranda (without the power). Take your pick!

Joe better be ready. Kessler whether this fight is fought in England or Denmark is going to walk thru Joe "the most protected fighter today" Calzaghe.

A test at last for calzaghe, this could b the end of joe.
Joe is like bruno wins the easy opponents and when witherspoon a decent fighter comes along,he cant handle it.
If joe fought Eubank or Lacy in their prime,he would of lost both fights.(fight them at the end of their careers and get their names on ya record)
I am afraid to say joe is hugely overrated and slaps when he punches.
I would like to think joe would prove me wrong, time will tell all.
I would rather watch hatton anyday, britains best boxer around.
Entertainment every time he fights and the heart of a lion.

Illl take Kesslers real punches over Joes pitter patter slapping punches. Joe will get KOed since he decided that he is all grown up and he can now finally cross the street, and fight in another country....i hope poor joe doesnt get homesick haha.
