Yes. It made me cry. And you are right; very inspirational. If young people have that kind of courage, there is indeed hope for the world.
So my response is to tell kids everywhere to think, really think, about what you do and why you do it, and have the courage to be different from those around you. Whatever religion or other organization can help you with that, go for it.
I am not a Christian, but I am by no means anti-Christian. And I do think the black churches are considerably more compassionate than the white ones, on the whole. In fact, if I was ever to return to the fold (which is unlikely), it would be to go to a mostly black church. Here in University City, we are fully integrated, so I would presumably be acceptable even with my pale skin.
