It's not cost effective, you'll have to order 7up or something of that equivalent, generally, those items are not in high demand.

I would imagine that it's a question of demand. Lots of people drink decaffeinated coffee; regular coffee has a LOT more caffeine per serving than soda, so I suspect that people are more cautious about getting coffee in a decaffeinated form than soda. A restaurant will normally respond to demand, and if that's what the majority of customers want, then that's what likely to be provided. If lots of people wanted decaf sodas, then I suspect those would be stocked. If you want a place to offer it, suggest it to the owner/manager; they don't know what you want if you don't speak up, after all! :-)

It's all a matter of what people will purchase. If a restaurant has the syrup for six different sodas, and they get one caffeine-free soda...the probable thing that will happen, will that the soda will expire before they sell it. While people do drink caffiene free sodas, I doubt it's fast enough for freshness quality.
The same goes for tea. Basic tea would be Lemon, not all teas are caffinated. Ask your server.

All restaurants can not offer all the caffeine free items. It takes physical space,a higher inventory, and the amount used does not normally justify having it, which means waste and higher prices to the consumer to make up for waste. Just suck it up and act like 98% of the normal population. You are not at home!

I would guess the main reason is the customer base doesn't request it. The tea should be pretty easy - maybe they have it in bags but you have to ask, check this out. As to the soda, storing it is a problem so they need to move it on a regular basis.

...of but they do. you just don't point out the obvious. orange juice or any other fruity juice is caffeine free. and they don't bother to tell you that your green tea or black tea has caffeine because few people drink that, and the ones that do, know what is contains. and you can always have water (but they don't label that as caffeine free either)....
i cannot sympathize - i love caffeine

Have a Sprite or 7-UP. Some places don't even have unsweetened tea. when in doubt, drink water. It's also cheaper.
