The bible is considered non-fictional right? But why does logic state otherwise? for example...if adam and eve were the first two humans created by god, why did explorers find natives on other continents (think columbus)? Another example...its said in the bible that King herold killed thousands of male infants because he wanted to kill jesus before he became 'king', but how could he order such a comand if he died 7 years before jesus was born. Isn't it kinda weird that jews edited and published the bible in the first place?

ps. I'm not saying that God or Jesus don't exist...I just don't think the bible is meant to be taken in a literal sense

Oh dear.............you're using logic and reason!

They won't like that...........it scares them you know.

Oh hello.........There's Primoa straight away using their line that logic and reason don't matter.

You could use faith as an excuse for all sorts of terrible things with that line of reasoning.

First, Adam and Eve were the first humans God created and they spread out from there. I can't think of a single scientist that doesn't think the world was once one giant continent - Pangea. Likewise, after the flood, there was an ice age with a land bridge over the Bearing Straight......

So you admit Jesus was born. Great. Next step, stop using a Pope's interpretation of the calendar (we use a Gregorian calendar afterall) as the literal position for BC/AD. Most Biblical scholars agree that Christ was most likely born in the summer, around 6-7 BC...

read Mathew 2:16-19. it says , "When Herod realized he was outwitted by the Magi, he was furious, and he gave orders to kill all the boys in Bethlehem and its vicinity who were two years old and under, in accordance with the time he had learned from the Magi. Then what was said through the prophet Jeremiah was full filled: A voice is heard in Ramah, weeping and great mourning, Rachel weeping for her children and refusing to be comforted, because they are no more.
After Herod died, an angel of the Lord appeared in a dream to Joseph in Egypt and said, " Get up, take the CHILD and his mother and go to the land of Israel, for those who were trying to take the child's life are dead.""

The Bible says people migrated and moved off to other lands and then languages became blurred.

Many Kings were called Herod. They all came from the same family, just like many Emperors were called Ceasar.

Kingdoms are dynasties, designed so the family and family name lives on, except when there are no direct heirs or a queen takes office and marries.

There are ancient bones to be found on every continent... the problem in fact is that the means to date them is far from perfect. Carbon dating assumes that the rate of the loss of carbon from organic matter has stayed constant over time- however there absolutely NO WAY to prove that idea. Next, to put the icing on that sorry cake, living molluscs have been carbon dated in the thousands of years of age... so it's clear that the system for dating things is faulty.

As for King Herod... not HEROLD... can you quote your source please that said he was already dead while ordering the death of the babies? Thank you.

You don't have your facts straight.
Jesus was born around 4-8 BC (before Christ). One of the Caesar's messed up the calender, this is a fact!

People scattered long after Adam and Eve, what's your point? What are the dates of these people on other continents?

Logical & rational thinking cannot ever explain the things of God....they have to be Spiritually discerned

There will always be an element of mystery and 100% faith & trust

Edit:
Herod did not die 7 years before Jesus was born. Christ was born in or around 4 BC.....Herod died around 8 AD

The story of Adam and Eve is a symbol for our "falling" from the (real) state of grace (Eden), into a (unreal) state of being separated from everything, including God. But we cannot be separated in truth. We remain as created.

The Bible can be beautiful, but exasperating; it has been interpreted, re-interpreted; translated and re-translated, over and over for thousands of years. To understand it, I believe one must understand oneself, and how one looks at the world they believe is outside of them.

Go within, and ask there.

sweetie, the Human Genome project has proven that we all originate in Africa. That doesn't mean the bible is correct. It's just a fact. We migrated outward from there.

King Herod was said to have died in 7 CE. However, there is absolutely NO historical evidence WHATSOEVER that Jesus ever existed.

Its a collection of oral stories that were meant to teach lessons.
From what I have read in a lot of sources is that Jesus was Gnostic. He believed the God of the OT was the devil, that he usurped the real God. He believed in spiritual fulfillment, not earthly. That he intended other people to take the faith, not Peter. Peter joined the emerging church to stomp out by sheer decimation, Jesus's claimed followers. He believed in material showing to God and to Jesus.
There are a lot conflicts on their obviously. So some of it is open to historical interpretation.
