It may be normal, but it could also be thrush, an infection of the mouth. It can be caused by taking anitbiotics or birth control. It usually occurs in babies, but anyone can get it. Check out this website. http://www.medicinenet.com/thrush/article.htm

You might want to go to a doctor that sounds like thrush. A yest infection in the mouth. They can give you nystatin, an antifungal to help.

The best way to clean that stuff off is to get a scrapper of some kind and scrape it off, it's moist so it can be removed easily.
