i have 11/2 years old labrador and we all have to go out for work but since he came he never left alone, so when should i leave him alone? and will it be safe to leave him alone??

yes i think it's OK to leave him alone but try not to leave him alone for more than 6-7 hrs max.
i hope you can do that with your work commitments.
how come he hasn't been alone if he is 1 1/2 years old? did you take him every where with you? if so lucky dog.
i would start off slowly if you can.
leave him for a little while, then slowly extend the time.
so like first leave him 15 minutes, come back, praise, go away again 30 minutes or so...
slowly slowly so he don't panic and think you are never coming back.
also what might help is leaving the radio on and leaving him a Kong to play with. you can get these Kong's at any pet store and u put some kibbles or treats in it and the dog will spend hours trying to get them out.
it works for my 2 active dogs.

buy a crate and he will be safe
