Looking at the answers so far, it doesn't look like there will be any apology or even silent slinking - only obstinate denial.

There is NOTHING wrong with trying to reduce the negative impact our civilization has on the environment, but our choice will be to always have put the needs of civilization over that of the environment. Anybody who tells you differently is either a liar or a hypocrite - they would have kevorked themselves rather than continue to be a blight on the environment.

What bugs me the most is that many refuse to even merely consider the possibility that this a natural cycle - we have to DO something. These are the same folks who watch a nature show about predators stalking and chasing down prey, silently rooting for the prey to escape, their hearts hurting while they watch the prey being torn asunder by the predator. It's just nature, and it has to happen. If we take steps to actively change the environment, even if we have good intentions, we may be damaging natural processes.

So what's wrong with spending trillions of dollars to try and solve this "problem"? This isn't Monopoly money we're talking about - it has to come from somewhere. Siphoning that money from the economy will mean the need for increased human productivity and eventually increased consumption of resources (Basic economics folks - without consumption, you have zilch.) Now, can anybody tell me how this increased consumption can be done without having a negative impact on the environment?

But there will be those who get rich off this scheme which means there will have to be those who get poorer. That's OK, right? An overly-burdened economy is eco-friendly, right?

I expect to get a lot of negative votes from the eco-fascists - it's the "fascist" way...

The threat of man-made global warming and climate change forces many people to conserve resources, as well as to take the focus off of themselves, their needs, and their wants. This climate crisis (perceived or not) is getting people to take a second to think about something other than themselves... it's getting us to really wonder how our actions in one country can negatively affect people in another part of the world.

So why the heck would anyone apologize for making an effort to make the world a better place by taking responsibility for their own actions? It's called accountability, and more and more people are learning to embrace it. Just because you don't agree with it does not mean we should apologize for it.

Can global warming skeptics/the people that are fighting against proposed global warming prevention measures (and I assume the questioner is one of these people) honestly say they feel good about their actions if they are trying to stand in the way to solutions? Can you honestly say that at the end of the day you feel good because you did what you could to encourage other people to not be concerned with the environment?

I would feel really bad about myself if I was one of those people who stood up at meetings and constantly shot other people's ideas down. There are books and books out there about how not be that person. It's just bad for business. I applies to many things. Similarly, I cannot imagine how selfish a person would have to be make things harder for the rest of us who are trying to solve a problem. To be sand in the gears must feel really unpleasant.

If you don't work for Exxon, I'm sure they are hiring and would love to have another skeptic on board. Link below to their job listings.

For the rest of us, there's a tasty link about accountability below the first link.

Have they said "sorry, we were wrong" about the Cold War? About ANY of the tax cuts, from Kennedy to Reagan to, yes, Clinton's corporate tax cuts, to Bush?

NO.

They keep coming up with excuses.

Yeah those Reagan tax cuts, they'll make inflation worse......

It doesn't matter to them that inflation has remained at less than half the level it was when the tax cuts were implemented, for over 25 years now....

So far man-made climate change has NOT been proved right - - - it's continued to get warmer - - just like it did LAST time. The predicted EFFECTS of global warming, man-made or not, have NOT happened.

Well, this is a misconception. The climate is ALWAYS changing. However, it's not due to this "Global Warming" crap.

I find this rather interesting.

We put out 30,000,000,000 tons of CO in the atmosphere every year.

To put that in perspective, that's 38 molecules of CO for every 100,000 molecules of air. It would take 5 years to change that 38 molecules to 39 molecules at the above rate.

Interesting, huh?

There should be nothing to apologize for. The climate on this planet will change whether we cause it or if it is a natural change and thus far it is still greatly debated as to what the actual cause is. There is nothing wrong with being environmentally conscious until one goes ahead and condemn s those who might not be up to their standards.

whether it is right or wrong is in the mind of those who think and care sweetheart. What is wrong with caring for our environment? OK lets say global warming does turn out false, what did we hurt by making efforts to improve the environment as a whole? I wont slink away because everyday another animal becomes endangered. Everyday part of a natural resource is lost, do you arrogantly ignore this? I believe attitudes like yours will be the ones who are going OMG i am so sorry. Unfortunately for all of us it will be too late....

So far climate change has been proved right - many have tried to prove it wrong and failed. To illustrate my point, try and find any credible scientific study (including those conducted by the oil companies), that proved climate change is wrong - numerous people have set out with this objective in mind and have failed.

Seriously, try and find a single reliable source that proves climate change is wrong.

The global warning issue is ongoing. I can say this: there are a couple of deep ponds around my area that my parents used to ice skate on 50+ years ago. They're no longer safe due to the fact that the winters aren't cold enough to freeze them low enough. Also, our winters are much milder than they were back then. Makes we wonder.

GW is a myth. It's a political posturing move and seems to be working with all the sheeple here that believe it's true.

Follow the money!!

Normal cyclical climate changes are occurring as they have for thousand of years.

The science is undeniable.

Denying global warming is real is like saying the Earth is 6000 years old. You have to deny a lot of science to do it.
